Usman inaugurates Boards of National Planning Commission's parastatals

Abuja, September, 2009: The Boards of the three parastatals under the National Planning Commission (NPC) were on Tuesday (15th September) in Abuja inaugurated by the Honourable minister, Dr. Shamsudeen Usman, with a charge to members to ensure fairness and transparency in the conduct of the business of the parastatals. The parastatals include, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Abuja, Nigerian Institute for Economic and Social Research (NISER), Ibadan, and the Centre for Management Development (CMD), Lagos.
The full list of the board members showed that Ambassador Greg Mbadiwe will chair the Board of NBS, while Prof.Osita Ogbu and Prof. Munzali Jibril are the chairmen of the NISER and CMD respectively. The boards also have institutional members alongside individuals. The full list of the board members include:

Vision 2020 Official gets fellowship Abuja, September, 2009: Dr. Anne Nzegwu, the Head of unit overseeing the Stakeholder Development Committees at the NV20:2020 Secretariat, has been conferred with the fellowship of the Institute of Corporate Administrators (ICA). Nzegwu, who is also a Deputy Director in the National Planning Commission (NPC), received her award alongside 18 others at the ICA's 2009 Executive Colloquim on ''Charging Economic Rebirth through Visionary Strategies'' held at Ibro Hotel, Abuja, on 29th August, 2009. In her citation, Nzegwu was identified as having multif-faceted skills spanning 25 years with combined experience in accounting, managerial, retirement/pension,taxation, monitoring, evaluation, capital market compliance and regulatory areas. She had held various senior managerial and executive positions in both the public and private sectors rising to the rank of Vice-President, Securities compliance and operations in the U.S, before returning to Nigeria after a 23 year sojourn. Nzegwu, who joined the NPC at the end of March 2007, holds a bachelors in Accounting, MBA Finance and a Phd in Business Management.
