Macroeconomic Analysis Department |
|
The Macroeconomic Analysis Department is headed by a Director and closely supported by three Assistant Directors and other senior officers. The Department is structured into two main Divisions:
• Macroeconomic Policy Analysis Division
• Research & Statistics Division
The Macroeconomic Policy Division has responsibility for: Economic Analysis & Forecasting of macroeconomic aggregates; Production of Quarterly and yearly Economic Reports; Macroeconomic Modeling; Development of macroeconomic framework for short, medium & long term development plans; Maintaining surveillance on the economy; Collation and analysis of Socio economic data on the Nigeria economy; Co-hosting of the Annual Economic Summits with the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).
The Research and Statistics Division is responsible for: Data tracking of social-economic parameters; Focal point for coordinating activities for Planning Research and Statistics Departments (PRSDs) of the Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs); Initiates Research Studies into critical and contemporary areas; Maintain Database for key Socio-economic indicators and Interface with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)

Minister/Deputy Chairman, National Planning Commission, Dr Shamsuddeen Usman, CON, has on Thursday, April 25th, 2013, on behalf of the Federal Government, signed a memorandum of Understanding (M0U) for the implementation of the 10th European Development Fund (EDF), support for Water supply and Sanitation Sector Reform programme in Nigeria. The 10th EDF, is a phase ii programme for six focal states in Nigeria, namely; Anambra, Cross River, Jigawa, Kano, Osun and Yobe.
